Dissertation:
- Intro paragraph for each Chapter to what they will discuss
- Heading for each Chapter
- Some references need further people to add further evidence
- Overusing Poynor slightly - vary references
- Creative review did an article about 'ugly' design (add as extra source)
- State in essay awareness that design isn't just about using technology but the role of design and importance of communication (social responsibility)
Practical:
- Manifesto for amateurs who have this accessibility to web based tools due to the emergence of technology - but do not have the knowledge, so give them context into theory and history
- Democratic manifesto - shows principles throughout history even before modernism
- Get through to amateurs that communication and ethics is important, role of design - social responsibility
Synthesis Statement:
- Printed and handed in with practical
- Chose these typefaces because (reference to who is in dissertation, Tschichold says this but I chose this as Poynor etc..)
- Intro - what and why you're doing it
- What research, how it helped and how it was relevant
- How the research has worked in developing the practical (how it wouldn't exist without research)
- How practical has effected your dissertation and your understanding of it
