OUGD501 Practical - Development - Zine 1
For this zine, I wanted a very contemporary, simple approach to the design. For the content, I needed modern punk fashion photography, therefore I researched and looked into different photographers and magazines. This idea follows the values of punk - 'intentional plagiarism demonstrated punk's disregard of established publishing traditions, and in this way may be interpreted as a political act. However, I have stated the photographers in the zine due to copyright reasons as this nowadays would not be acceptable. In addition this credit of photographers is more realistic of a fashion look book.

The typography for the zine needed to be edgy to convey the punk photography. This fits with the context as a modern punk nowadays and the target audience who would buy this zine would be edgy and approximately 18-35 year's old. It shouldn't be overly obvious - to keep it contemporary, which is why I chose this style of typography and clean, minimal layouts.
